GRAND FORKS, N.D. – Marking the halfway point of the track season and the penultimate collegiate event of the indoor season, the UND track & field programs will compete in its first-ever Summit League Championships Feb. 22 and 23 at South Dakota State.
The Sanford-Jackrabbit Athletic Complex will host the championship, starting Friday with the women's pentathlon and men's heptathlon at 9:30 a.m., Central with the meet concluding on Saturday. SDSU will provide live results and a video stream.
Admission to the championship for Friday will be $5 for adults and $3 for kids. Saturday's tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for kids.
The Fighting Hawks will be sending a total of 52 athletes to the competition, including
Molli Detloff, who is one of nine competitors on the women's side ranked in the top-25 nationally in her respective event. Detloff is one of four throwers in the weight that rank in the elite group.
Overall, 36 North Dakota athletes rank in the top-10 in their respective events in the Summit League.
In the women's high jump,
Erica Benson (1.73m, 5' 8"),
Ellie Miller (1.72m, 5' 7.75") and
Isabel Waite (1.70m, 5' 7") rank third, fourth and fifth in the conference, respectively, in the event. Miller also ranks second in the pentathlon with a score of 3,493.
On the men's side, five Fighting Hawks with a mark amongst the top-10 in the conference –
Oluwaseyi Aguda (200m),
Ethan Buckles (200m),
Nolan Hovland (high jump),
Nick Krella (pole vault) and
Tyler Kolander (weight throw)  – have all registered their season-best in their respective event at South Dakota State.
