The Ralph again sets the pace in NCAA hockey attendance

Eighth consecutive year that UND has highest attendance in NCAA

GRAND FORKS, N.D.-- For the eighth straight season, the University of North Dakota led all NCAA Division I hockey schools in total attendance and average attendance. UND drew more than 200,000 fans through the doors of the prestigious Ralph Engelstad Arena, the only team to surpass that mark and out-pacing second-place Minnesota by more than 41,000 fans.

North Dakota picked up 12 of its 18 wins at home last season, including six wins in its final eight home games. Included in the home wins were impressive victories over top-ranked St. Cloud State (5-1), third-ranked Minnesota Duluth (4-1) and a pair of overtime thrillers over Colorado College (4-3 and 3-2).

Open prior to the 2001-02 season, the Ralph Engelstad Arena has seen nearly 4.3 million people witness 240 North Dakota wins in 18 seasons. The building lists capacity at 11,634 and has met or exceeded that 168 times since its opening.
