Hoff signs pro deal in native Norway

GRAND FORKS, N.D. – University of North Dakota junior forward Ludvig Hoff (Oslo, Norway) has signed a professional contract to play for Stavanger Oilers in his native Norway. He will team with his elder brother, Magnus, on the squad for the team that plays in the GET-ligaen, which is the top division in Norwegian ice hockey. The Oilers have won their playoff championship in seven of the past 10 seasons.

Hoff finishes his North Dakota career with 10 goals and 26 assists in his three seasons at North Dakota. This past season, Hoff tallied three goals, including an overtime game-winner against Colorado College on Jan. 11 at the Ralph Engelstad Arena. 

Hoff is one of just six European players all-time at UND and one of three in the past three seasons (Joel Janatuinen, Finland and Matej Tomek, Slovakia). His signing marks the fourth player from this past season to ink a professional deal, joining Rhett Gardner (Texas Stars, AHL), Nick Jones (Hartford Wolf Pack- AHL) and Hayden Shaw (Jacksonville Icemen- ECHL).
