SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - The Summit League announced dates for the upcoming 2019-20 conference basketball schedule Tuesday afternoon, including 16 games for the University of North Dakota women's basketball program.

Tipoff times, as well as non-conference games,  will be announced at a later date.

Featuring eight games at home and on the road, the Fighting Hawks will open the conference season with a New Year's Day clash at Denver. UND will then host its first Summit League game at The Betty Engelstad Sioux Center on Jan. 5, hosting Purdue Fort Wayne.

While UND will play both South Dakota State (Jan. 16) and North Dakota State (Jan. 19) on the road early in the conference season, North Dakota will not host an opponent from the Dakotas until Feb. 9 when South Dakota comes to town.

The Fighting Hawks will play its final two home matches of the 2020 season on Feb. 20 and 23 when the Jackrabbits and North Dakota State come to town, respectively. North Dakota will close the regular season on the road at Omaha (Feb. 27) and the Coyotes (Feb. 29).

The Denny Sanford Premier Center in Sioux Falls will once again host The Summit League Tournament with games held March 7-10, 2020.

Women's basketball became the first Fighting Hawk program in The Summit League era to win a postseason game on Mar. 9, 2019 as they overcame a 16-point deficit to defeat Denver, 80-67, and clinch a date with South Dakota in the semifinal round.

Entering his eighth season in charge of UND women's basketball, Travis Brewster will welcome back seven letter winners, as well as six incoming freshmen that feature Ms. Basketball from the states of North Dakota (Megan Zander) and Minnesota (Kacie Borowicz).
