GRAND FORKS, N.D. - Entering the weekend on a four-match winning streak and off to its best start in the Division I era (6-1-1), the University of North Dakota women's soccer team will head to Idaho this weekend to take on Boise State (Sept. 20) and the University of Idaho (Sept. 22).
Both matches will stream online with the Mountain West Network showing the affair with the Broncos while PlutoTV will broadcast the matchup with the Vandals.
The Fighting Hawks opened last week with a 6-0 victory over Minot State that saw a hat trick and an assist from
Mimi Eiden, as well as a two goal, one assist showing by
Grace Roswadovski in her collegiate debut.
North Dakota followed up with a thrilling 2-0 win at Grand Canyon on Sunday night as
Catherine Klein kept UND afloat with its 1-0 lead after stopping a penalty kick in the 65th minute.
Olivia Knox accounted for the game winner while
Megan Wright scored from the penalty spot to seal the North Dakota victory.
The Hawks first opponent, Boise State, is off to a 6-1 start this season with its only loss coming to Utah in double overrate on Sept. 8. The Broncos have outscored their foes 16-3 and have posted five shutouts on the year. Raimee Scherle, an All-American in 2018, leads the team with five goals and four assists this season.
Idaho has dropped its last five matches and own a 2-6 record this season, including a 1-4 clip at the Kibbie-Asui Activity Center. the Vandals will open the week Thursday, Sept. 19 with a matchup at Oregon State University before hosting the Fighting Hawks. Idaho has been outscored 12-5 this season and are led by Maddie Haas on the attack with two goals and an assist.
The University of North Dakota will take a week off before opening The Summit League season Oct. 4 versus South Dakota at Bronson Field.
