SCOUTING SOUTH DAKOTA STATE
South Dakota State is 13-6 overall with a League-best 5-0 record in The Summit League, winning its last six games. SDSU recorded marquee wins over top-25 South Florida and Notre Dame at the Cancun Challenge over Thanksgiving. The Jackrabbits are averaging 69.2 points per game while allowing only 59.5 and have three players averaging double figures, led by Paiton Burckhard (14.4) and Myah Selland (13.8).
SCOUTING NORTH DAKOTA STATE
North Dakota State enters the week 3-12 with a 0-3 clip in conference. The Bison will host South Dakota on Thursday night before Sunday's tilt against North Dakota at the Sanford Health Athletic Complex (SHAC). Emily Dietz and Michelle Gaislerova lead the NDSU offense with 13.8 and 13.7 points per game, respectively, with the duo leading North Dakota State in scoring in 13 of the team's 15 games. The Bison are 2-6 at home.
CALL, AND RESPONSE
Like the essence and spirit of blues music, whenever UND women's basketball has been called upon after a loss, the team's responded positively. With a 12-5 overall record, North Dakota owns a 4-0 record in contests after a loss. In its four previous games after a loss, North Dakota has averaged 81 points, 18.8 assists, 29 field goals - including eight behind the arc - while shooting .429 from the field. On average, UND has also outrebounded its foes, 45-33.
The Fighting Hawks have a chance to right the ship on Thursday at South Dakota State to improve to 5-0 after losses.
NEXT UP
After three-straight road games, North Dakota will return The Betty for a pair of games against Denver (Jan. 24) and Western Illinois (Jan. 26).
