GRAND FORKS, N.D. – Freshman defenseman Mitchell Miller was selected in the fourth round by the Arizona Coyotes in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft on Wednesday afternoon.
Miller, who is the 49th ranked North American skater per NHL's Central Scouting prior to the draft, becomes the third player in UND history to be chosen by the Coyotes since the franchise moved to Glendale and the third UND skater to be selected in this year's event.
Prior to UND, Miller played for the Tri-City Storm of the USHL, where he was named to the All-USHL First Team after logging 33 points on eight goals and 25 assists in 44 games. He spent the previous season with Cedar Rapids Rough Riders, tallying 16 points (4g-12a) in 48 games. Named to 2018 U.S. Junior Select Team for World Junior A Challenge, winning gold along with UND teammates Ethan Frisch, Shane Pinto and Griffin Ness.
