GRAND FORKS, N.D. -- The University of North Dakota women's tennis team announced the addition of two future Fighting Hawks as well as the gain of a transfer student-athlete on Wednesday as part of National Signing Day.
Nore Heinitz and Lucia Rizza each signed their National Letters of Intent (NLI) to join the program for the 2021-22 season while Angela Georgieva has completed her enrollment process to transfer from Winthrop University to UND this coming spring.
"We are thrilled to receive commitments from Lucia and Nore," said UND associate head coach Kyle Anderson. "They both check all of the boxes we look for when trying to add to our program's culture. I am confident they will be impact players and I look forward to the opportunity to work with them."
Meet The Class
Nore Heinitz | Duluth, Minn. | Laurel Springs High School
- Began playing varsity tennis for Marshall High School in seventh grade
- Finished third at the Minnesota Single A State Tournament in singles in 2015
- Member of the Northern National Teams every year since 2013
- Is a two-time Northern Sectional singles champion and five-time doubles title winner
- Currently ranked fifth among the Plains Region by TennisRecruiting.net
Lucia Rizza | Edinburgh, Scotland | Firrhill High School
- Ranked as the top prospect from Scotland at the U-18 age
- Sits as the 22nd prospect in all of the United Kingdom for U-18
Angela Georgieva | Johannesburg, South Africa | Winthrop
- Spent her freshman season at Winthrop
- Will join the Fighting Hawks in Spring 2021
- Finished the 2019-20 season with a 3-7 overall singles record, 1-3 in the Big South
- Earned Big South Freshman of the Week honors for the week of March 6
- Helped the Eagles finish 5-7 overall and 4-1 in conference play
