DES MOINES, Iowa -- The University of North Dakota women's tennis team dropped a 6-1 decision to Pac-12 member Colorado on Friday afternoon from Des Moines, Iowa as part of a three-match weekend against a bevy of strong opponents.
In doubles play, Colorado captured wins on the first and third courts to take a 1-0 lead; however, the duo of
Sapir Sela and
Andrea Jansson rallied for a 6-1 triumph on the No. 2 court to try and carry some momentum into singles play.
The momentum seemed to work in the early going, as
Nina Zdravkovic knotted the score at one at the fifth position with a 6-3, 6-2 triumph and
Allie Ochotorena captured her first set on the No. 3 court by a 7-5 score.
CU answered back with straight set victories on each of the other positions, and capped off the win with a three-set triumph at the No. 3 spot to seal the 6-1 win.
North Dakota returns to action tomorrow afternoon with a 4:30 showdown against Iowa State from Des Moines.
