Box Score 2 HONOLULU, HAWAII -- The University of North Dakota dropped a pair on the final day of the Hawai'i Invitational. They fell to Montana 1-0 and fell to Abilene Christian 10-1.

The Fighting Hawks faced the Grizzlies for the second time in the first game of the day on Saturday. It was a gruesome duel between both teams as Montana took the 1-0 win.
Jannay Jones battled to a complete game, allowing four hits over six innings of work and surrendered just one run, but was saddled with a tough defeat.
After scoring six runs in the first game against the Grizzlies, UND could only muster a few hits, with
Cassie Castaneda providing a pop in the fourth inning.
Both teams threatened in the opening innings, but the game remained scoreless through three innings. At the top of the fourth, the Grizzlies scored the singular run of the game. North Dakota threatened in the bottom of the fourth with two walked players as Castaneda loaded the bases with a single to third base, but the Fighting Hawks had two outs and the Grizzlies secured the third to leave them scoreless.
North Dakota threatened once more in the bottom of the seventh with
Madi Moore hitting a single to shortstop. She advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt and to third on a wild pitch, but Montana secured the final two runs to end the game with the 1-0 win.
Abilene Christian 10, North Dakota 1
It was a duel as the Fighting Hawks faced Abilene Christian once more to round out tournament play. North Dakota battled, but they fell to Abilene Christian who won 10-1.
Jackie Albrecht pitched 3.2 innings. She allowed six hits and four runs while securing three strikeouts.
Lauren Feld stepped in for Albrecht and allowed one hit and three runs while striking out one.
Morgan McConnell finished up the pitching for the Fighting Hawks with two hits and three runs in her frames of work.
Abilene Christian took an early lead with a home run in the first inning to put them up 1-0. North Dakota remained scoreless ending the first inning, but Albrecht and the defense secured a 1-2-3 second inning to keep it within one. The Fighting Hawks threatened at the bottom of the second as
Madi Moore singled to shortstop and then stole second.
Chevelle Sartin singled to center field, but the Wildcats secured the final out as Moore tried to steal home.
The Wildcats extended the lead to 4-0 at the top of the third. The Fighting Hawks threatened at the bottom of the fourth but were unable to score. Abilene Christian extended the lead in the fifth to 7-0. The Fighting Hawks earned a run at the bottom of the fourth as
Cassie Castaneda earned the RBI when she brought in
Kaycee Hayes to make it 7-1.
Abilene Christian continued to attack on offense as they scored three more runs at the top of the fifth to make it 10-1 and earn the win.
North Dakota returns to action on Thursday, March 3 at 6 PM against Arizona in the Wildcat Invitational.
