GRAND FORKS, N.D. – The best of college hockey descends on St. Paul, Minn. for the 2022 NCHC Frozen Faceoff, as No. 5 North Dakota will battle No. 7 Western Michigan in the semifinal on Friday night at 7:37 p.m.
All UND men's hockey games, home and away, can be heard on stations across the Home of Economy Fighting Hawks Radio Network, as well as through the iHeart Radio, FightingHawks and Varsity Network apps. The flagship station for the network is 96.1 FM (The Fox). Longtime broadcaster Tim Hennessy calls the action.
Friday's game can be seen on CBS Sports Network with Alex Heinert, Dave Starman and Shireen Saski calling the action. Due to NCHC streaming rules, all games this weekend will NOT be carried on NCHC.tv.
Friday marks the 37th all-time meeting between North Dakota and Western Michigan, with UND leading the series 27-9-0.
The teams each got the better of the other on its home ice, with WMU recording a sweep in January in Kalamazoo and UND returning the favor just three weeks ago at the REA.
Those two wins by Western are a bit of an anomaly, however, as UND has claimed eight of the last 10 contests between the two.
This will be the second meeting at the NCHC Frozen Faceoff between the two, as UND defeated WMU, 5-0, in the third place game during the 2014 version of the tournament.
