GRAND FORKS, N.D. – Winners of six straight, No. 4/5 North Dakota closes out the regular season with a chance to win its third straight Penrose Cup this weekend against No. 20 Omaha from Baxter Arena at 7:07 in Omaha, Neb.
All UND men's hockey games, home and away, can be heard on stations across the Home of Economy Fighting Hawks Radio Network, as well as through the iHeart Radio, FightingHawks and Varsity Network apps. The flagship station for the network is 96.1 FM (The Fox). Longtime broadcaster Tim Hennessy calls the action.
Both games can be seen on NCHC.tv, with a subscription. Neither contest will be carried on television.
Friday will be the 45th all-time meeting between North Dakota and Omaha, with UND holding a 27-16-1 advantage in the series.
Earlier this year, the pair split a weekend series in Grand Forks. UND captured Friday's opener, 4-1, before Omaha rallied back from a 2-0 deficit in the third period to post a 3-2 overtime victory.
The first team to score a goal in the contest has won 18 of the last 19 games in the series, with the lone difference being the last meeting between the two.
