NOTES: North Dakota Heads to Western Illinois

The Fighting Hawks began their conference schedule against the Kansas City Roos. The initial two games went into an eighth inning. North Dakota took game one with two runs in the top of the eighth Kansas City took the second game with a run in the bottom of the eighth (4-3). They ended the weekend 1-2 against Kansas City.

They continue the conference slate with a three-game series in Macomb. North Dakota and Western Illinois will begin play on Saturday afternoon with a double header beginning at noon before the two close out the series on Sunday at 11 a.m.
 

UND is slowly closing out its stretch of games away from Grand Forks, as the Fighting Hawks have so far played all of their games on the road so far this season. By the time the season is over, and it is all said and done, the green and white will have played 44 games away from Grand Forks.

Western Illinois - UND trails 3-6

» The Leathernecks have dominated the series between the two schools, winning six of the nine contests.

» The two teams faced each other four times last season at Apollo Park in Grand Forks. They split the series as UND took the second game of the double headers while Western Illinois took the first two games.

» The Leathernecks currently sit at a 5-21 record. They have held a conference game home series against St. Thomas.

» The Leathernecks currently sit 1-2 for conference play. This is similar to North Dakota's record as St. Thomas fell to the Leathernecks (9-8) and then won the series with a 13-5 win and a 5-1 win.
