UND Volleyball Releases Full Schedule

GRAND FORKS, N.D. – North Dakota volleyball, under the direction of first-year head coach Jesse Tupac, announced the release of the full schedule on Wednesday. The schedule features one exhibition and 29 regular season games. The season is highlighted by four tournaments, which includes the UND Classic hosted at the Betty Engelstad Sioux Center.

North Dakota opens the season with a home exhibition match against MSU Moorhead on Saturday, Aug. 20 at 1 p.m. The regular season slate begins with a trip west to compete in the Farmers State Bank Invitational hosted by former Big Sky conference foe, Montana, starting on Aug. 26 and Aug. 27. The match against the host will take place on the first day followed by the third meeting against UC Davis. On Aug. 27, UND faces UT Arlington for the first time in program history.

A week later, UND ventures to Kalamazoo for the Western Michigan Tournament. Featured in the tournament are contests against a trio of first-time opponents beginning on Sept. 2 with Wright State and Indiana State before rounding off the competition versus Western Michigan on Sept. 3.

The Fighting Hawks return to the Betty to host the UND Classic, which brings in Montana State and Fordham as opponents. The first day of the UND Classic on Sept. 8 sees a familiar rival from their time in the Big Sky, Montana State, at 7 p.m. The tournament ends with a UND Classic newcomer, Fordham, on Sept. 10 at 1 p.m.

NoDak ends nonconference play in Wisconsin for the Green Bay Invite. On Sept. 16, they compete against familiar foes Green Bay and Drake. Their final game of the Invite on Sept. 17 features a new opponent, SIUE.

Conference matches start with a visit to Macomb for a clash with Western Illinois on Thursday, Sept. 22. UND then heads to Saint Paul to tussle with St. Thomas on Sept. 24.

North Dakota returns to the Betty for a home stand that begins with a head-to-head battle against South Dakota State on Sept. 27 at 7 p.m. Its next challenge at home is Kansas City on Sept. 29 at 7 p.m. The Hawks welcome Oral Roberts during homecoming weekend on Oct. 1 at 10 a.m.

UND starts their journey south in Fargo as they take on inner-state rival North Dakota State on Saturday, Oct. 8. They continue to the trip down I-29 with a visit to battle last season's regular season league champion, Omaha, on Oct. 13. The Hawks shift their travels west for a match up at Denver on Oct. 15.

North Dakota returns to Grand Forks to host the Tommies on Oct. 20 at 7 p.m. as the second half of the conference season begins. The fight continues at the Betty against the Leathernecks at noon on Oct. 22. UND knocks out two away games against the Golden Eagles on Oct. 27 and the Roos on Oct. 29 before returning home.

The Hawks begin their homestand against 2021 Summit League Tournament winner, South Dakota, on Nov. 1 at 7 p.m. Then the Bison roll into town for a battle on Nov. 5 at 4 p.m. Two more tough opponents return to the Betty as they clash with the Pioneers on Nov. 10 at 7 p.m. and the Mavericks at 11 a.m. on Nov. 12.

North Dakota ends the regular season with a trip to the Mount Rushmore State to face Jackrabbits on Nov. 17 and Coyotes on Nov. 19.

Omaha clinched its first regular season title last fall and earned the right to host the 2022 #SummitVB Championship Nov. 24-26.
