North Dakota Falls to Northern Colorado 4-0

GREELEY, Colo. – The University of North Dakota soccer team fell to Northern Colorado 4-0 on Thursday night from Greeley, Colo.

The Fighting Hawks fought hard in Thursday night as they controlled the ball on the Bears side for a majority of the first half, but UNC struck at the 16th minute mark to give them the 1-0 lead. The battle continued, but the old Big Sky foe tallied another to make it 2-0 headed into halftime. Northern Colorado scored 63rd and 73rd minute mark to secure the 4-0 victory against North Dakota.

North Dakota attacked Northern Colorado early as they ended the first half with four shots with one of them on goal. Although they had a strong start, the hosts managed to keep up with the Fighting Hawks as they had six shots with four on goal and two corners.

As they sought their first goal, UND continued to pepper UNC with shots as they added six in the second half to end the game with a total of ten. UNC maintained the pace as they had seven shots in the second half to give them a total of 13.

Both teams played a physical match as the end saw 21 combined fouls. Northern Colorado ended the game with the most of the two teams with 13.

  • 63:25 – UNC | Lauren Woodhull makes a move around a UND defender at the top of the box to make it 3-0.
  • 73:49 – UNC | Northern Colorado's Britney Donais sends in a cross, and Sydney Engelkins connects to make it 4-0.
