OMAHA, Neb. – The University of North Dakota soccer team battled against Creighton but lost 4-1 on Thursday evening from Morrison Stadium.
The first half saw four goals reach the back of the net as both teams fought for the lead. The Fighting Hawks had a slow start as the Bluejays struck at the fourth minute for an early 1-0 lead. UND continued to attack the CU defense, but the Bluejays made it 2-0 in the 19th minute. The Fighting Hawks cut the deficit to one (2-1) at the 32nd minute. One more goal came from the Bluejays to make it 3-1 headed into halftime. The second half saw less action as a lone goal by CU was scored to give them the 4-1 victory.
North Dakota was outshot by Creighton 32-3. The host had 14 corner kicks in the match as UND had four. Madi Livingston and Abby Ellenberger combined for ten saves while the Bluejays keeper did not have a save in the game.
It was a physical match in Omaha as the end saw 18 combined fouls. Each team tallied nine with neither receiving a card.
