Box Score OMAHA, Neb. – North Dakota women's soccer started the conference season with a 0-0 tie against Omaha on Friday night.
It was a tough tussle as both teams tried to get on the board first. The first half ended without a score from either squad. The Fighting Hawks were unable to fire a shot against the Mavericks in the first half. Omaha had 11 shots against North Dakota. UND's goalie,
Madi Livingston, kept the Mavericks away with three saves.
In the second half, the teams continued to try to break through as UND had one shot and UNO had nine shots. Livingston locked it down in the net as she added a save to her total.
The Fighting Hawks ended the match with one shot with none on goal, four saves and two corners compared to the Mavericks 20 shots with four on goal, no saves and 13 corner kicks.
North Dakota returns to action on Sunday, Sept. 25 at 1 p.m. in Denver against the Pioneers.
Postgame Notes
- North Dakota moves to 4-4-3 on the season. This is the first tie for the two team in conference play as the rules have been changed to remove overtime unless it is a post-season match.
- Madi Livingston ended the afternoon with four saves to help her team to a tie and secure the shutout. This is her fifth solo shutout and sixth combined shutout of the season
- This is the fourth tie in the series history. Omaha leads 18-5-4.
- Omaha finished with a 20-1 shot advantage, including 4-0 on goal.
- This marks the third regular season tie of the year for the Fighting Hawks.
