SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – North Dakota cross country runner Yonca Kutluk was named the Summit League Cross Country Peak Performer of the Week, the league offices announced Tuesday afternoon. With the accolade, she becomes the first North Dakota runner in program history to be named a Summit League Cross Country Peak Performer of the Week.

Kutluk ran in her first meet as a Fighting Hawk on Saturday and was the story of the meet, placing fifth in the gold 6K section of the Paul Short Run with a time of 20:28.6. There were 393 runners in that race. Earlier this season, she ran unattached at the Ron Pynn Classic and claimed the individual 5K crown with a time of 17:34.0.

Kutluk and the Fighting Hawks will next compete at the Summit League Championships in Brookings on Saturday, Oct. 28.
