GRAND FORKS, N.D. – North Dakota women's hoops begins Summit League play on the road Friday in St. Paul, Minn. against St. Thomas. Tip is set for 1:00 p.m. at Schoenecker Arena between the Fighting Hawks and Tommies.

Series History vs St. Thomas
North Dakota and St. Thomas have met five times prior to Friday's contest with the Hawks holding a 4-1 edge all-time. They split the regular season series last year, with each team earning a win on their home floor. NoDak is 1-1 all-time at Schoenecker Arena.
Kacie Borowicz led the Hawks in both games against St. Thomas last season and averaged 22.5 points over the two games. In UND's 70-56 win on Dec. 19,
Kiyah Hurst just missed a double-double off the bench with nine points and nine rebounds. In the game in St. Paul, Hurst totaled 18 points with two three-pointers, three rebounds and three assists.
Last Time Out: vs Drake
North Dakota's 23 points in the first quarter against Drake was the most they've scoring in an opening period this season, but they failed to keep pace with the Bulldogs and fell 108-60.
Kacie Borowicz matched her season high with 29 points on 10-of-21 shooting and knocked down three three-pointers.
Miranda VanderWal rejected a career high three shots against the Bulldogs and
Kiyah Hurst added nine points, five boards and three steals.
Record Watch
Kacie Borowicz moved to 9th all-time in NoDak program history with 1,627 career points following a 29-point performance against Drake. Borowicz is seven points away from passing Lexi Klabo's (2015-19) record of 1,633 points scored in the North Dakota Division I era.
With six field goals against Southern Miss, she moved inside the top-10 in career field goals made with 560. Borowicz has been a key facilitator for the Hawks offense as she has totaled 359 career assists and is just seven away from the top-10.
Borowicz has made the most out of her trips to the charity stripe. She currently holds the highest career free throw percentage in UND history at .891 percent. She holds three of the top five best single season free throw percentages in program history including the top two spots. She connected on .957 percent of her free throw attempts in 2021-22. Borowicz ranks sixth all-time with 398 made free throws.
Boards and Buckets
Kiera Pemberton is one of three freshmen in the NCAA to average over 8.5 points per game, over 6.5 rebounds per game and shoot over .550 from the field. She has been one of the most efficient scoring options for the Fighting Hawks so for this season with a .600 shooting percentage for 8.8 points per game. The freshmen from Langley, B.C. has reached double-digit scoring in each of her last three games and converted .750 percent of her field goal attempts over the last four contests.
Pemberton played a season-high 28 minutes against Eastern Michigan and turned in a 13-point and seven-rebound performance against the Eagles. She went a perfect 6-for-6 from the field with 12 points in the win over Minot State.
Pemberton has shot over .750 percent in four games this season, including the game against Grand Canyon where she posted her first career double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds on 7-for-9 shooting.
