GRAND FORKS N.D. - The University of North Dakota soccer program announced the elevation of Danny Burstein to associate head coach on Friday, July 28. Burstein just completed his second season with North Dakota, helping the Fighting Hawks to their second postseason appearance since joining the Summit League in 2018.

"Coach Burstein has done a fantastic job with developing our athletes the last two years," said Head Coach Chris Logan. "His dedication to the program made the elevation to associate head coach an easy decision. We appreciate all of his efforts to continuously help our program grow and improve."

Burstein joined the Fighting Hawks in August of 2021, following a season with the University of Providence's (Mont.) men's program, where he was the interim head coach. There, he helped lead the Argonauts to a 3-3-2 mark during the 2020 season despite the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. He also served as an assistant coach for the Argos in 2018 followed by a one-year stint at Adams State in the same position in 2019.

"I am grateful for the opportunity to continue on and help the women's soccer program achieve its goals both on and off the field," said Coach Burstein. "UND has been a great environment for me these last couple years and I am excited to continue to call the university my home. I am very appreciative of Chris Logan for this chance as well as the support from the rest of the athletic department."

The Fighting Hawks soccer program kicks the 2023 season off on August 8th in an exhibition against Jamestown on Bronson Field at 3 p.m.
