SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The Summit League released the men's and women's basketball conference schedules for the 2023-24 season on Thursday. The Fighting Hawks will be on the road for eight games and at home for eight games against their Summit League opponents. There are also two games that are part of the Summit League-Big Sky challenge, which will see UND host Northern Colorado and go to Northern Arizona in early January.
Conference play opens on December 29 as St. Thomas comes to the Betty. Two days later UND will go to Brookings to take on South Dakota State on New Year's Eve.
On January 3, Northern Colorado comes to the Betty, then on Jan. 6 the Hawks fly south to Flagstaff, Ariz. for a showdown with the Lumberjacks.
The road swing continues the next week as UND heads to Omaha on Jan. 11, then to Kansas City on Jan. 13. After two weeks on the road, UND comes home to host Oral Roberts and Denver on Jan. 18 and 20. The final game of the month sees NoDak at St. Thomas on Jan. 27.
UND plays at South Dakota to open the month on Feb. 1, then comes home to host North Dakota State in a doubleheader alongside women's basketball on Feb. 3. The next week, the Hawks stay home as they host Omaha on Feb. 8 and Kansas City on the Feb. 10. The green and white leave the state of North Dakota for the final time for a trip to Denver and Oral Roberts on Feb. 15 and 17, respectively.
After a Thursday off the following week, the Hawks go to Fargo to play NDSU on Feb. 24 in another doubleheader and then host South Dakota State on Feb. 29 before closing the regular season at home against South Dakota on March 2.
The 2023-24 Summit League Men's Basketball Championship returns to the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center in Sioux Falls, S.D. for the ninth time. The five day event will run March 8th- 12th, with the tournament champion earning an automatic berth to the NCAA Division I Basketball Tournament.
