NOTES: Hawks Flying South for Tournament in Texas

GRAND FORKS, N.D. – The North Dakota volleyball team is heading south this weekend for the Abilene Christian Tournament, and will face three opponents for the first time in program history. On Friday they will see Grambling at 1 p.m., then take on hosts ACU at 7 p.m. and then close out the weekend with a 10 a.m. match against Providence on Saturday.

Quick Hits

* North Dakota dropped their first three matches of a season for the first time since 2007.

* Elizabeth Norris passed 1,000 career assists in the match against Montana State. She also led the team in blocks and digs over the weekend. She ranks 15th in the Summit League with .3 aces/set and 21st in digs/set with 2.3.

* Kaycee O'Dell led UND with 11 kills in the opener against Kennesaw State, her first match as a Hawk. She finished the weekend second on the team with 21 kills. Her .302 hitting percentage ranks seventh in the Summit League after one weekend.

* Paige Barber led the team with 24 kills over the weekend, with 11 against Montana State. Her 2.4 kills/set average ranks 17th in the Summit League. She led the team with 25 points.

* Maddy Hornyak tallied four aces in the opening weekend, at .4 aces/set she ranks ninth in the Summit League.

* Teagan Timperley had double digit assists in each of the first two matches, and Katy Riviere had ten assists in the match against Oregon State.

* Five players had at least three blocks: Norris (5), O'Dell (4), Ashlyn Olson (3), Marissa Stockman (3) and Jarolin de los Santos Lugo (3).
