GRAND FORKS, N.D. – University of North Dakota volleyball coach David Nguyen announced the hiring of Clark Joslin as assistant coach for the Fighting Hawks on Monday afternoon.
"I am thrilled to have Clark join our staff," said Nguyen. "I have had the opportunity to coach against him a couple of times and felt like we could work well together. His ability to scout, game plan and recruit, will really help our program excel. I look forward to seeing all that we will accomplish together."
Joslin comes to Grand Forks after spending three seasons as an assistant coach at Central Michigan from 2023-25. In his first two seasons, he primarily coached middle blockers and pin blockers, helping the Chippewas go 24-7 in 2024.
"I am honored and humbled to join the University of North Dakota volleyball family," said Joslin. This move was an easy decision for me after my conversations with Coach Nguyen. His passion, intelligence and vision made it clear that he is committed to building a program that is founded on student-athlete development, on and off the court. I look forward to working with him and everyone else surrounding the program to create an environment of positivity, collaboration and competition!"
In 2025, he coached primarily pin attackers, helping senior outside hitter Natalia Rejment jump from 2.76 kills/set in 2024 to 3.11 kill/set in 2025. She earned second team All-MAC honors as a result.
Prior to coaching, Joslin was a practice player with the Michigan State volleyball team for the 2021 and 2022 seasons. He also simulated scout team opponents to help the Spartans prepare for matches.
A native of Troy, Mich., Joslin graduated from Michigan State in 2023 with a Bachelor of Arts in Film Studies, before receiving his MBA in Business Data Analytics in 2025.
