Fighting Hawks stumble in 4-3 defeat to University of Chicago

Box Score CHICAGO -- The University of North Dakota men's tennis team fell, 4-3, to the University of Chicago on Saturday evening from the Windy City. 

UND (0-4) took the early advantage on the road with a pair of doubles wins, grabbing victories on the No. 1 and No. 2 courts to jump ahead by a 1-0 score. Ange-Kevin Koua and Victor Moreno Lozano teamed up for a 6-3 triumph on the top court, giving Moreno Lozano his first win in a UND uniform, before Ethan Terry and Jerall Yasin sealed the two-man point for the Fighting Hawks by a 6-4 score at the second position. 

The Maroons responded back with a pair of wins on the No. 6 and 2 courts to take a 2-1 lead, but the Hawks responded when Leandro Zgraggen recorded two victories by a 6-4 score in a three-set triumph to even the contest at 2-2 to give the junior his first singles victory at NoDak. 

UND again brought the match level, this time at 3-3, with a win by Jayho Hong on back-to-back 7-6 scores, but Chicago pulled out the match victory at the top position to finish off the 4-3 win. 

North Dakota returns to action tomorrow morning at 9 a.m. against UIC.
