GRAND FORKS, N.D. – North Dakota men's tennis added to its season success with a trio of Fighting Hawks being named to the 2025-26 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team, officials announced on Tuesday.

Christos Alex, Leo Galliano and Kotaro Matsumura all represented UND on the academic awards list for their success both on and off the courts.

The 2025-26 Academic All-District® Men's and Women's Tennis Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

The lone senior on the Fighting Hawks squad this season, Alex served as an explosive asset both on and off the court. He tallied six singles victories during the season—with three of those coming from the No. 6 spot—and tied for a team-high 13 doubles wins. Alex appeared on all three doubles positions and went 6-0 from the second spot while grabbing another six wins at the third spot and finding success in two different doubles pairs. He ended his career with a degree in Finance and a grade point average of 3.952.

A repeat honoree on the All-Summit League team, Galliano dominated the season after stepping into the No. 1 position in singles competition. He went 17-2 overall with a 4-1 conference showing, only dropping one conference match to an opponent from the nationally-ranked Denver squad. The sophomore also appeared on all three courts in doubles play and again broke the double-digit win mark with 11 total wins. Galliano is working toward a degree in Managerial Finance and Accounting while holding a GPA of 3.543.

Matsumura provided steady success for North Dakota as he eclipsed the 10-win mark this season in individual competition. He primarily dominated from the No. 4 position where he grabbed nine wins on the year while collecting another from the third spot. The junior also added in another 10 wins in doubles play which were spread across each of the three courts and won six of his last nine pairs matches. Matsumura currently holds a GPA of 3.8 while pursuing a degree in marketing.
