GRAND FORKS, N.D. - A busy week at home inside the Betty Engelstad Sioux Center coninutes for North Dakota volleyball. The Fighting Hawks welcome in Omaha on Thursday night for a 7 p.m. serve. and then will play host to St. Thomas on Saturday at noon. UND opened its busy week at home and closed out the first half of Summit League play on Tuesday night with a four-set loss to North Dakota State. Sophomore Lauren Perugini registered her fifth double double of the season with 13 kills and 11 digs, classmate Teagan Timperley followed suit with her second double double in a 20-assist and 14-dig effort and junior Izzie McCormick led all Hawks with 23 digs. UND's 76 digs were the third-most in a match this season and are the most in a four-set affair. North Dakota recorded five aces in a match for the 13th time this season. The losses in sets one and three mark the 16th and 17th lost sets decided by three points or less, while the set three loss marks the 10th lost set for UND in extra.

The Hawks finished up round one of Summit League action at 1-7 overall. UND played a league-high 33 sets in the eight league tilts. The Hawks battled in three five-set matches and played extra in eight sets, while 14 league sets were decided by three points or less. In Summit League play, the Hawks currently rank second in total digs with 503 at the third-highest rate of 15.24. UND has recorded 43 service aces (6th), 59.0 total blocks (6th), 383 kills (7th), 352 assists (7th) and an attack clip of .169 (7th). Following the weekend, UND hits the road for a stretch that takes the squad to Vermillion, Tulsa and Denver. UND closes out the home portion of the campaign against Kansas City and South Dakota State, before tripping down to Fargo for the regular season finale. The Hawks have matched their home-wins output from a season ago with five. A sixth win inside the Betty would give UND its most at home since winning seven in 2018.  

The Hawks have won the opening set in nine of its 19 matches winning five of those contests in addition to earning three wins after dropping the opening set. In 75 total sets played this season, UND has won 34. Of the 41 sets that the Hawks have fallen in, NoDak has seen ten go extra and 17 decided by just three points or less. Overall, UND is -30 in kills (888-919), +7 in aces (107-100), +20 in digs (1,051-1,031) and +11.5 in blocks (156.5-145.0).

.292 -The attack percentage for freshman Vanessa Washington in eight Summit League matches. The clip ranks 10th in the SL and supports 46 kills at 1.39 per set from the middle.
