PEORIA, Ill. – Naja Weiler led the North Dakota women and Matej Hrebacka paced the UND men at the NCAA Midwest Regional on Friday afternoon. The NoDak women finished 21st as a team in the 6K with 576 points, while the Fighting Hawk men took 26th in the 10K with 707 points.

Weiler was the top finisher for UND and had the third-best finish at the meet in school history, taking 38th in the 6K with a time of 20:45.98. Eliana Malnourie, one of North Dakota's top-two runners at every meet this season, was the next Hawk to cross the finish line and was 43rd in 20:48.57. Frida Giersdorff was next in 150th with a time of 22:16.82. Elle Sondag was the lone Hawk to record a 6K PR and took 163rd in 22:28.74. Rachel Hughes (190th, 22:56.78), Gabrielle Wahl (192nd, 22:57.32) and Olivia Correale (196th, 23:02.17) were the final UND runners to score points in the 6K.

Five Fighting Hawks ran in their first 10K at the meet, led by Hrebacka finishing in the top-100 and taking 83rd in 31:04.96. Niko Angell and Ethan Kimmel, both running in their first 10K's in school history, finished 153rd (32:20.51) and 161st (32:35.84), respectively. Aleksa Milanovic recorded a personal-best time of over a minute and was 164th in 32:40.98. Jonas Weschle (167th, 32:45.82), Alan Ash (172nd, 32:58.92) and Cian Nagle (189th, 33:48.65) rounded out the scoring for the Hawks.
