GRAND FORKS, N.D. – North Dakota recorded eight event wins and posted six improvements to the UND top-10 list at the UND Tune-Up on Saturday.
Kenna Curry swept the women's throw titles. She was victorious in the weight throw to start the day with a toss of 67-4 (20.52m). Later in the afternoon, Curry claimed the shot put crown with a toss of 49-8 1/4 (15.14m).
In the men's weight throw,
Elijah Beach earned the title with a personal-best throw of 50-3 1/2 (15.33m). It is the first collegiate title of his career.
On the track,
Jerzie Finstad won the 60-meter crown with a PR time of 7.72. Her time moved her up to No. 2 in school history in the event. In prelims, Finstad qualified for the finals with a time of 7.73, which moved her up to No. 3 at the time.
Towards the end of the meet, the 4x400-meter relay team of
Kimberly Hitchen,
Brooklyn Brouse,
Malene Kollberg and Finstad claimed the title with a time of 3:49.82. That time moved the team up to No. 5 in the event in program history.
The men's 4x400-meter relay team of
P.K. Moore,
Jory Vasek,
Alec Nelson and
Justice Dick was also victorious with a time of 3:21.22.
Elle Sondag earned her first collegiate win in the mile, clocking a personal-best time of 5:12.74. Her PR was an improvement of over five seconds.
Maguire Petersen won the men's high jump with a clearance of 6-3 1/2 (1.92m).
North Dakota will visit Fargo for the Summit League Indoor Championships on Friday (Feb. 23) and Saturday (Feb. 24).
Post-Meet Notes
* On top of the eight event wins and six improvements to the UND top-10 list, the Fighting Hawks also had 28 top-three finishers at the meet.

Aleksa Milanovic, an unattached Fighting Hawk, won the 3,000-meter title with a time of 8:18.46. If he was attached, that would have been the third-fastest 3,000-meter time in program history.

Eve Goldstein was the runner-up in the women's weight throw with a PR toss of 58-10 (17.93m), which improved her No. 10 mark on the UND top-10 list.

Justina Esangbedo moved onto the UND top-10 list in the women's shot put with a personal-best throw of 45-6 1/4 (13.87m). With her PR, she is now No. 9 in school history and placed third in the event.

Emily Ash moved up to No. 7 in UND history in the pole vault with a personal-best clearance of 12-0 (3.66m). Ash finished fourth in the event.

Malene Kollberg moved into a tie for No. 4 in school history in women's 60-meter hurdles with a personal-best time of 8.74 in prelims. She finished fourth in the finals with a time of 8.83.
