Fighting Hawks roll past Marquette, 5-2

Box Score GRAND FORKS, N.D. -- The University of North Dakota men's tennis team notched a 5-2 win over Marquette on Friday evening to complete a sweep over the Golden Eagles on the day from Choice Health and Fitness in Grand Forks, N.D. 

UND (3-9) got off to the start it wanted on its home court, grabbing a 1-0 lead with a pair of wins on the No. 1 and 3 courts in doubles action. The bottom pairing of Ethan Terry and Christos Alex started it off with a 6-1 triumph before Ange-Kevin Koua and Victor Moreno Lozano followed right behind with a 6-2 win at the No. 1 spot to give the hosts the early advantage. 

It was the bottom of the lineup who provided the spark in singles action, with Terry increasing the advantage to 2-0 with a 6-1, 6-0 triumph on the No. 5 court and Alex helping the advantage balloon to 3-0 moments later by a 6-2, 6-0 score at the sixth spot. 

After Marquette cut the lead to 3-1, Leandro Zgraggen provided the clinching moment for the Hawks by a 7-5, 6-2 score on the No. 3 court before Koua earned a fifth point for the green and white after rallying back from a loss in the first set to post a 6-3, 1-0 (12-10) victory at the No. 2 position. 

North Dakota will look to make it a perfect weekend at home on Sunday afternoon against Montana at 3:30 p.m. from Choice Health and Fitness.
