Box Score TULSA, Okla. -- The University of North Dakota men's tennis team grabbed its first conference win of the season with a 6-1 victory over Oral Roberts on Sunday evening from the Bernis Duke Tennis Center in Tulsa, Okla.

UND jumped out to a 1-0 lead in doubles action with a pair of victories on the No. 2 and 3 courts after ORU grabbed the opening win at the top spot. Jerall Yasin and Leandro Zgraggen evened two-man play up with a 6-3 triumph on the middle court before Christos Alex and Ethan Terry followed suit with a 6-3 win of their own at the No. 3 position to cement the 1-0 start for the visitors.

The Fighting Hawks extended the advantage to 2-0 at the No. 6 spot to begin singles play, with Alex cruising to a 6-2, 6-3 win, but Oral Roberts cut the deficit to 2-1 with a win at the second spot.

From there, the remaining four singles contests went to three sets, but it was in those third sets that NoDak shined. The green and white won each of the final four singles bouts to grab the 6-1 overall match victory.

Jayho Hong was the first of two Hawks to drop their opening set but still grab a win, rallying from a 6-4 defeat to post a 6-2, 6-3 triumph at the No. 5 spot to extend the lead back to two at 3-1 before Terry provided the clinch by also coming back after losing the first stanza to nab a 1-6, 6-2, 7-5 victory from the fourth court.

The final two courts saw UND put an exclamation point on the win, with Zgraggen notching a 7-6, 4-6, 1-0 (10-7) win from the No. 2 court to push the lead to 5-1 and Ange-Kevin Koua finished off the day with a 6-3, 4-6, 6-4 triumph at the top spot to secure the 6-1 final.

North Dakota will head to Texas to play a trio of matches in the state, beginning on Tuesday afternoon against Lamar.
