GRAND FORKS, N.D. – The North Dakota men's basketball team has announced the addition of transfer guard Reggie Thomas.
Thomas comes to the Fighting Hawks from Hastings College (Neb.), where he was the Great Plains Athletic Conference Player of the Year en route to being named an NAIA First-Team All-American—the first in the history of the Hastings program.
He averaged 24.1 points per game last season for the Broncos, along with a team high 7.5 rebounds and shot 50.7% from the field and 42.2% from downtown; as well as 79.6% from the free throw line. He also averaged 4.5 assists per game. He recorded nine double-doubles: eight in points/rebounds and one points/assists, and he scored in double figures in every game.
He was GPAC Freshman of the Year during the 2022-23 season, as well as Second Team All-Conference. During that season he averaged 19.3 points, 5.3 rebounds and 4.2 assists per game.
Over his two-year career he averaged 21.8 points per game, shot 49.6% from the field, grabbed 6.5 rebounds per game and dished out 4.4 assists per game.
Coach Paul Sather said of Thomas, "Reggie was a dominant player in the very competitive Great Plains Athletic Conference leading his team to both the regular season and tournament championship. He has won about every award possible in that league including Freshman of the Year, Most Valuable Player of the Year, and was a First Team All American. Reggie plays with great efficiency as a scorer and playmaker, shooting over 40% from the arc, over 50% overall, and had a 2 to 1 assist to turnover ratio. He's a high energy player that loves to compete… he's a great fit for us and Hawk Nation will love watching him play."
