GRAND FORKS, N.D. – The North Dakota men's basketball team has announced the commitment of forward Dariyus Woodson, a Baytown, Texas native, who comes to the team from Tyler Junior College (Texas).
Woodson was one of the top shooters for the Apaches last season, shooting 48.7% from the floor and 37.7% from the three-point territory; averaging nearly two makes from downtown per game. He led the team with 14.3 points per game and was third on the team with 4.8 rebounds per game. He also averaged 1.6 assists, .5 steals and .4 blocks per game.
He scored in double-figures in 20 games for TJC last season, with a season high 30 coming against Louisiana Knights Post-Grad Academy, and scored 20+ points in six games total. Over the last ten games of the season this past year, he averaged over 18 points per game—averaging 18.0 points in seven games during the month of February and 18.7 points in three games in March.
He helped lead the Apaches to a winning season for the first time since the 2019-20 season, with 16 wins the most for the program since 19-20.
"Dariyus brings a lot of versatility with his size and skill and he can really shoot the ball" Head Coach Paul Sather remarked of Woodson. "He has a very mature presence on the court and plays the game with great poise and feel. We can't wait to get Dariyus on-campus to start working with him."
