The Fighting Hawks wrapped up exhibition play in a big way on Saturday, rolling to a 9-0 win over Northeast Community College from Bronson Field in Grand Forks, N.D.Â
UND exploded for seven goals in the second half and got four goals from
Kaylie Fowler to tally its largest exhibition win in program history.Â
Coupled with the 1-1 tie against Northern Iowa, NoDak finished the exhibition portion of its season unbeaten for the seventh straight year.Â
UND IN SEASON OPENERS
UND is 4-10-2 in season openers since moving to the Division I level in 2008 and are 3-3-1 under Head Coach
Chris Logan since he took over in 2017.Â
The Hawks last opened the season away from home in the COVID season of 2020, when the team played in the spring of 2021. The last "normal" season to begin away from Grand Forks was 2018, when the green and white took down Nicholls by a 3-0 score.Â
UND dropped last season's debut at home to Montana, 1-0.
