Cameron Berg, Jake Livanavage named to Preseason All-NCHC Team

| By:
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Senior forward Cameron Berg and sophomore defenseman Jake Livanavage were named to the 2024-25 Preseason All-NCHC Team on Tuesday, selected by the media, as announced by the league office.

It marks the second straight season that North Dakota has had at least two players represented in the six-man squad, with Denver and Colorado College also each placing a pair on the team to round out the selections.

Berg exploded for a career year in 2023-24 in his first season with NoDak, finishing third on the team with 37 points on 20 goals and 17 assists to post career bests in all three categories. The West Fargo, N.D., native never went consecutive games without a point over the entire season, as the forward appeared in all 40 games. Berg's 20 goals were second on the squad while his 15 tallies against conference foes paced the team and ranked second among all NCHC skaters to earn All-NCHC Honorable Mention honors. Berg also led UND with 394 faceoff victories last season and was named a finalist for the NCHC Defensive Forward of the Year award. The senior was named an assistant captain for the 2024-25 team.

Livanavage also had a strong rookie campaign with the green and white, sitting fifth on the squad and leading all defensemen with 29 points over 40 games. The blueliner earned All-NCHC Rookie Team and All-NCHC Honorable Mention honors after tallying 18 points in 24 league games to rank second among rookie d-men and fifth among all conference defensemen. The Phoenix, Ariz., native had 26 points over the final 28 games of the season to climb to a tie for fourth all-time and tops this century for points by a UND rookie defenseman with 29. Livanavage also shined on the defensive end, totaling 51 blocked shots and posting a plus-5 rating.

Media members voted for three forwards, two defensemen and one goaltender on their ballot with each vote worth one point. The top three vote-getters at forward, top two defensemen and highest vote-getting goaltender made up the preseason all-conference team. A total of 30 ballots were submitted by media members covering each team, as well as select national college hockey media.

On Wednesday afternoon, the 2024-25 NCHC Preseason Poll will be released, with the countdown being revealed on the NCHC's X account, @TheNCHC, beginning at 2 p.m. (CT).
