GRAND FORKS, N.D. – Six different players scored for North Dakota soccer on Tuesday afternoon as the Fighting Hawks handled in-state foe Jamestown 6-1 to remain unbeaten at Bronson Field and improve to 4-2-2 on the season.
The Hawks struck first with senior
Alisha Maake finding the back of the net on a header in the seventh minute. The first goal of Maake's career was courtesy of a corner, the 40
th by the Hawks this season, from senior
Irene Jirasevijinda.
Just over a dozen minutes later, UND added to its lead with sophomore
Kaylie Fowler scoring bottom right of goal for her third score of the season. Senior
Julia Briggs found Fowler after the former was assisted cross field by classmate
Allison Tschetter. The NoDak lead was padded only moments later as
Caroline Kuhn scored unassisted for her second goal of the season and a 3-0 UND lead which the Hawks carried into the break.
UND scored three more times in the second half with the first of such goals coming in the 55
th minute as Jirasevijinda scored on an impressive assist from Fowler. In the 62

Avery Toms scored for the first time in her career after Maake and senior
Mary Gasaway kept the attack alive inside the box. The final strike was indeed a strike as junior
Jessica Machovec scored in the 72
nd minute with her team-leading fourth goal of the season as sophomore
Sofia Desirello and junior
Paula Moreno Diaz helped Machovec find the back of the net.
The Jimmies scored their lone goal of the afternoon in the 80
th minute as Bre Oettle scored on an assist from Vega Canada.
UND prepares for its final two nonconference matches of the season. The Hawks head to Missoula on Thursday for a matchup with Montana at 5 p.m. That contest will be available on ESPN+. - Jirasevijinda and Gasaway took over the team lead in assists (3) with one each in the win
- Briggs became the fifth Hawk with two assists this season following her helper to Fowler in the 20th minute; Fowler then became the sixth Hawk with at least two assists as she aided Jirasevijinda in the 55th minute
- Tschetter's assist made her the 11th Hawk to record an assist this season. Three other Hawks joined her as first time assisters in 2024 as Maake (12th), Desirello (13th) and Moreno Diaz (14th) recorded a helper in the win
- Goals by Maake, Jirasevijinda, and Toms, each their first of the season, made the eighth, ninth, and tenth respectively, different Hawk to score in 2024
- The performances by Machovec and Fowler have each tied for the team lead in points (8)
- The Hawks netted 21 goals all of last season and are one off of that total with two matches remaining in the month of September
- UND took 34 shots and crossed over 30 for the third time this season
- The Hawks' 16 shots on goal mark the third match this season with 15 or more
- The three shots on goal by the Jimmies mark the fifth match this season that UND has allowed five or fewer
- Freshman goalkeeper Grace Miller produced a clean first half to pick up the win, sophomore Sydney Bakritzes recorded a save and sophomore Sarah Ruenes was perfect for nearly ten minutes
