ST. LOUIS, Mo. – North Dakota defensive back Tyler Erkman was one of four players to earn Missouri Valley Football Conference Player of the Week honors on Monday morning, earning the title of MVFC Special Teams Player of the Week.

In a game that started as a back-and-forth contest, Erkman helped turn the tide in North Dakota's favor midway through the second quarter and blocked a punt. His blocked punt was exchanged for a touchdown one play later when Gaven Ziebarth scored on a seven-yard rush to bring the score to 38-21 in favor of the Fighting Hawks. UND won the contest, 72-35.

North Dakota will visit North Dakota State on Saturday. Kickoff between the Fighting Hawks and Bison is slated for 2:30 p.m. The game will be televised on Midco Sports and carried on the Fighting Hawks Radio Network.
