GRAND FORKS, N.D. -- Junior
Andrea Pineda finished her first weekend at North Dakota in style, earning the Summit League Women's Tennis Peak Performer of the Week honor as announced by the league office on Tuesday afternoon.
Pineda dominated during the opening weekend of the spring season going 2-0 in singles and 2-0 in doubles to help North Dakota pick up a pair of wins over Eastern Illinois (6-1) and Lindenwood (7-0).
In the No. 1 position in the singles lineup for all her matches, Pineda opened the weekend with a match-clinching victory over EIU after posting a 6-2, 6-1 win. She then went on to push the advantage to 6-0 against Lindenwood with a 7-5, 6-0 win on her court.
At the No. 3 court in doubles, she grabbed a pair of 6-1 wins against both EIU and LU to help the Fighting Hawks go perfect in doubles on the weekend.
North Dakota will enjoy a week off before returning to the courts on Friday, Jan. 31 at Hawaii Pacific.
