GRAND FORKS, N.D. – The University of North Dakota men's basketball head coach
Paul Sather announced the additions of Carter Evanson, Sage Hanson and Jayden Moore to the 2026-27 team during National Signing Day on Wednesday, November 12.
"Stacking good recruiting classes together is very important, and building off last year's class was a priority," said Sather. "We couldn't be any more excited about this year's high school recruits. We feel each of these young men will continue to raise the standard of North Dakota basketball on the court, in the classroom, and in the community."

Four-year letter winner at Horace High School… No. 1 ranked player in the state of North Dakota according to prephoops.com…Averaged 25.2 points, five assists, five rebounds and 3.5 steals per game as a junior…Started on varsity since his freshman year…Was an All-Conference selection his sophomore and junior seasons along with receiving all-state honors his junior year…Played AAU with ND Phenom…Two-time academic letter maintaining a 4.0 GPA…Intends to major in Business.
Coach Sather on Carter:
"Carter is a high-level instinctive basketball player that impacts both ends of the floor. He's an electric guard that can really score, but his ability to make the right play and find the open man really stands out. His instincts carry over on the defensive side of the floor as well. We feel he could be a special defensive player both on and off the ball with the effort and athleticism he plays with. North Dakota basketball fans are going to love watching Carter play!"
Sage Hanson | 6-9 | Forward | Towner, N.D. | TGU Granville School
Four-year letter winner in high school…No. 2 ranked player in the state of North Dakota according to prephoops.com…Played AAU basketball with Evanson on the ND Phenom… two-time All-Region and All-District selection… Apart of the Honor Society and was named Student of the Year… Also played baseball… Plans to major in Economics.
Coach Sather on Sage:
"We see Sage as a versatile athletic forward that can make an impact on both sides of the floor. He has a solid skill set and can really shoot the ball for his size. What stood out most this summer was his competitive spirit on defense and his ability to rebound. He's a big piece for the future of UND basketball. Sage is also an outstanding student and tremendous fit for UND. We're so excited he chose to be a Fighting Hawk."
Jayden Moore | 6-0 | Guard | Minneapolis, Minn. | Hopkins HS
Has been on varsity since seventh grade… A four-star recruit and ranked the 95th best player in the country according to ESPN…Slated as the No. 1 player in the state of Minnesota and the 17th ranked point guard nationally on ESPN… The all-time leader in assists, points, rebounds and steals at Hopkins High School… Has the sixth most assists all-time in Minnesota state history… A three-time all-conference, all-metro and all-state selection… Two-time All-Metro selection as a football player…Played football his junior year for the first time since seventh grade and had 924 yards in nine games at wide receiver… Holds the all-time record for touchdowns in a game at Hopkins… Most recently played AAU with Team Herro on the EYBL Circuit…Played high school basketball with current UND guard Anthony Smith lll… Before playing with Team Herro, was AAU teammates with Smith lll,
Micah Curtis and
Marley Curtis on Team J-Sizzles… Plans to major in Business.

"Jayden is an athletic true point guard who makes everyone around him better. He's a high-level multi-sport athlete playing in one of the toughest high school leagues in the region, and his teams win! He plays with a great deal of confidence and competes on both ends of the floor. We're excited about the type of person Jayden is and the impact he can have with North Dakota basketball."
