FRISCO, Texas – Former North Dakota standout and 2022-23 Summit League Sixth Man of the Year Matt Norman is set to continue his professional career in the Lone Star State as the Orem, Utah native has signed with the Texas Legends, the NBA G League affiliate of the Dallas Mavericks, the franchise announced on Wednesday, February 20.
 
 Norman comes back stateside after spending the 2023-24 season with BC Iverioni Gori of the Georgian Superleague. He averaged 28 minutes per, 13.0 points, 3.7 rebounds and 2.0 assists, while shooting over 45% from the floor and 40% from range.
 
Norman played in 63 games for the Hawks over two seasons. He averaged over 10 ppg and shot 42.6% from the field. Norman grabbed 175 rebounds, dished out 100 assists and collected 21 steals as he helped the Hawks win 19 games.
 
His final season in Grand Forks, which resulted in him earning SL honors as the league's top sixth man, saw him play in 33 games and shoot 44.9% (125-of-278) from the floor. Norman shot 42.4% (81-of-191) from three-point range and 83.8% (44-of-52) from the stripe and finished with four 20-point games including two with 25. Norman's 81 made threes that season are tied for the most in a single season of UND's SL membership. Additionally, he added 79 rebounds, 45 assists, a dozen steals and five blocks.
 
Norman is the last Summit League player to notch six or more three-pointers in a SL tournament contest as he hit six against Denver in the opening round of the 2023 tournament.
