Fighting Hawks take down St. Thomas Aquinas, 6-1

Box Score ORLANDO, Fla. -- The University of North Dakota women's tennis team made it back-to-back wins in Florida on Wednesday, notching another 6-1 victory over St. Thomas Aquinas in the second of three matches in the Sunshine State. 

UND (10-4) jumped out to a 1-0 lead with a pair of dominating wins on the No. 1 and 2 courts. The top pairing of Ethel Li and Aziza Aubin grabbed a 6-0 victory before Jule Schulte and Nore Heinitz followed with a 6-0 blanking of their own from the middle position to secure the early advantage for NoDak. 

Li kept it rolling in singles action, notching a 6-1, 6-3 triumph from the second position while Andrea Pineda nearly matched her teammate with a 6-2, 6-3 win on the top spot to give UND another pair of points. Manon Hallemans got in on the fun from the No. 6 court with a 6-4, 6-1 triumph before Heinitz added a fifth win for NoDak in two sets by a 7-6, 6-4 score on the fourth court. 

Aubin rallied back from a first set defeat to notch a 5-7, 7-6, 1-0 (10-6) victory from the No. 5 spot to close out the 6-1 match victory. 

North Dakota will look to make it a clean sweep in Orlando against North Carolina Central on Thursday at 10:30 a.m.
