GRAND FORKS, N.D. -- Senior Grayson Wetch was honored as the Kwik Star Summit League Men's Golf Peak Performer of the Week, as announced by the league on Friday morning. The honor is the first of the year for Wetch and the second by a Fighting Hawk this year. 

Wetch led the way on the individual side for NoDak at the Colin Montgomerie-HCU Invitational from Sugar Land, Texas, matching his career-best finish in a tie for third with a 214 (+1). The score was just one stroke behind his career best over 54 holes and notches his second top-5 finish of his career. Wetch was at his best in the opening round, carding a career-low 67 (-4) thanks to five birdies before finishing the event with a 74 (+3) and 73 (+2) to sit just four strokes off the leader. 

The Fargo, N.D., native helped UND finish sixth as a team with 887 points to place among the top half of the 14-team field. NoDak finished with two rounds under 300, including a 288 through the opening round to notch the second-best score of the round and the fourth-best score of the season for the team.
