GRAND FORKS, N.D. -- A pair of North Dakota tennis student-athletes were among the 12 named to the 2024-25 Summit League Tennis All-Academic Team on Tuesday, as announced by the league office. Honorees were selected based on their academic and athletic performances during the 2024-25 season.
Senior
Nore Heinitz earned the recognition for the third time in her career while junior
Jerall Yasin was selected for the second straight year. To be eligible for the Academic All-League team, student-athletes must have a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.30 on a 4.0 scale, have completed at least one full academic year at their current institution and have participated in at least 50 percent of their team's competitions.
Heinitz is coming off another strong season in her final campaign with the Fighting Hawks, as the Duluth, Minn., native finished tied for the team lead with 14 singles wins and 15 doubles victories. In the final regular season match of her career, she became the program's all-time leader in career wins with 134 following a win over Denver. Off the court, Heinitz holds a 3.95 GPA with a major in psychology and was named the Summit League Scholar of the Championships prior to the postseason.
Yasin earned his second straight selection after finishing with a pair of singles victories and six doubles wins to help the Fighting Hawks set multiple records in a historic season. The junior helped UND reach the Summit League title match for the first time in program history while holding a 3.84 GPA in business economics.
Nominations are submitted by sports information directors from Summit League institutions that sponsor tennis, with voting conducted by SIDs and faculty athletics representatives (FARs). The team consists of the six student-athletes receiving the most votes, with all ties included.
