MACON, Ga. – The North Dakota volleyball team will travel to the peach state to wrap up non-conference play with a trio of matches against UT Martin, Mercer and West Georgia in the Mercer Invitational. Coverage for the match with Mercer can be found on ESPN+.
UND sits at 1-7 on the season, coming off a 3-0 victory over Idaho on Saturday where the Hawks had
Paige Barber (15) and
An den Hamer (10) lead the way offensively in kills, while
Izzie McCormick (20) and
Sadie White (12) each had double-digit digs.
Scouting the Oppositions
UT Martin enters this match with a 1-7 record on the season, defeating Lamar on Saturday. The Skyhawks were picked to finish ninth in the Ohio Valley Conference, as Ava Peters leads the team with 195 assists and Kayla Bryant leads the team with 14 service aces, good for second in the OVC.
Mercer owns a 1-9 record overall, as the Bears got their first win on Sept. 6 against UNC Wilmington. They are led offensively by Sophia Henry with 74 kills, while Jessica Dunn (137) and Sammie Bergjans (119) each have over 100 assists. The Bears were picked to finish eighth in the Southern Conference.
West Georgia has a 1-9 record this season, getting the best of UNC Greensboro on Sept. 13. Offensively they are led by Valiree Schmus with 89 kills and have two players with 100 or more assists in Addy Franz (161) and Desha Van Veldhuizen (134). They were picked to finish 12th in the Atlantic Sun.
