Barber recorded a career high 35 kills across seven sets and two matches in the opening weekend of Summit League play.

GRAND FORKS, N.D. – North Dakota volleyball outside hitter Paige Barber was named Summit League Offensive Peak Performer of the Week, announced by the league on Tuesday afternoon.

Barber earns her first peak performer of the week accolade of her career and becomes the first Hawk to win offensive player of the week since Lexi Ahrens won it on Feb. 2, 2021.

The Brecksville, Ohio native poured in 35 kills (.256 hit percentage) across two matches and seven sets of volleyball this past week, logging career highs 23 kills and nine digs on a season best .333 hit percentage in a win against South Dakota on Thursday. Her 23 kills were the most in a non-five set match since Oct. 22, 2011, when Lexi Robinson recorded 23 kills against NJIT in four sets.

The senior followed up the 23-kill performance with a game high 12 kills against North Dakota State on Saturday.

Barber currently ranks second in the Summit League with 175 total kills and is fourth in kills/set, averaging 3.65 per frame. She has recorded 10 or more kills in 10-of-13 matches this season and has 15 or more kills in six matches.

North Dakota will be back in action on Thursday at Omaha, with first serve set for 7 p.m. on Summit League Network.
