NOTES: Road Trip Continues for North Dakota Tennis

| By:
GRAND FORKS, N.D. – There are fives matches on the docket for the North Dakota men's and women's tennis teams in the next four days as the road trip continues for the Fighting Hawks.

The men kick things off on Friday at a noon match against IU Indy before facing Bellarmine on Saturday morning and Eastern Kentucky on Sunday afternoon. On the women's half of the schedule, they'll take on Nebraska on Sunday afternoon before stopping at Augustana for a noon Monday match.

Last Time Out
North Dakota tennis hit the road and split between going east and west of the state as the women took on Minnesota and Drake and the men faced Lewis-Clark State and Idaho.

The women went 1-1 over that stretch, falling in fast fashion to the Golden Gophers, 6-1, on Friday afternoon as Alyssa Giupponi collected the lone point with her singles victory. They went on to bounce back on Saturday morning with a gritty 4-3 win over the Bulldogs, clinched by Ethel Li's singles triumph.

On the other side of the Fighting Hawk action, the men went 2-0 in a weekend sweep out west. The team was a super tiebreak away from securing a sweep as UND dominantly took down Lewis-Clark, 6-1, on Saturday afternoon. Sunday afternoon featured another win for the Hawks but in much closer fashion, with captain Christos Alex securing the impressive 4-3 win in the second-to-last finishing match of singles competition.
