Cook Leads North Dakota Through Two Rounds in Tacoma

TACOMA, Wash. -- Sophie Cook fired a 1-over 73 in the second round to lead the North Dakota women's golf team through the opening day of the Pat Lesser Harbottle Invitational on Monday at Tacoma Country & Golf Club.

The Fighting Hawks sit 15th in the 17-team field after posting rounds of 306 and 303 for a 36-hole total of 609. Cook leads UND individually in a tie for 45th at 6-over 150 (77-73).

Payton Stocker is two strokes behind Cook and tied for 56th at 152 after rounds of 75 and 77, while Ella Speidel is tied for 62nd at 153 (77-76). Mallory Uselman carded matching rounds of 77 to sit tied for 66th at 154, and Gigi Lund is tied for 77th at 156 (79-77).

Stocker and Cook were among the stronger performers in the field on the par-5s, each playing them at 2-under with a 4.75 scoring average through 36 holes. As a team, UND played the par-5s at 2-under with a 4.95 scoring average.

North Dakota will close out the Pat Lesser Harbottle Invitational on Tuesday with the final 18 holes at Tacoma Country & Golf Club. The final round is scheduled for a 10 a.m. (CT) shotgun start.
