GRAND FORKS, N.D. -- Junior Mallory Usleman was named Summit League Women's Golf Peak Performer of the Week, as announced by the conference office on Thursday morning. The award is the second weekly accolade of Usleman's career after claiming NSIC Golfer of the Week honors during her time at Southwest Minnesota State.
The honor is the first weekly award for the UND women's golf program since joining the Summit League in 2018 and the first since Jenna Janu was twice-named Big Sky Women's Golfer of the Week in 2017-18.
Uselman earned the individual medal at the Yellowstone Intercollegiate on Tuesday after leading wire-to-wire. In the opening round, she fired a five-under 67 to break the school record for the lowest individual round in program history. She finished the tournament at one-under 215 (67-72-76) and established a new 54-hole career best by eight strokes. The Verndale, Minn., native also held the tournament lead in par-4 scoring average at 4.07, tied for third on the par-5s at 4.58 and tied for the tournament lead with an eagle while her 13 birdies ranked second among the field.
UND will head next to the Pat Lesser Harbottle Invitational, beginning Monday, Oct. 5, at Tacoma Country Club in Tacoma, Washington.
