NOTES: Tennis to Host Four Weekend Matches

GRAND FORKS, N.D. – North Dakota tennis will spend another weekend with a home court advantage as the men's and women's teams host four matches between Friday and Sunday inside Choice Health & Fitness.   
 
The UND men will begin the weekend with an 11:30 a.m. match on Friday against Montana before the women take on Creighton at 4:30 p.m. later that afternoon. Competition resumes on Saturday with a 4:30 p.m. rematch between the North Dakota and Montana men's teams while the weekend will close on Sunday as the women face Minnesota Crookston at 10:30 a.m.
 
Last Time Out
The North Dakota men took on Augustana in its lone match of the week in a Friday evening showdown and went on to collect a near-sweep of the Vikings, 6-1. UND clinched a sweep in doubles competition and went on to win five of six singles matches to secure the victory.
 
Sunday afternoon featured the women's team in action against Bemidji State, which ended in a dominating 7-0 sweep of the Beavers. The Fighting Hawks collected all three doubles matches before cruising through all six singles matches to bounce back into the win column.

Preseason Rankings and Athletes to Watch
In the Preseason Summit League Coaches' Poll released on January 14, the North Dakota women were selected third with one first-place vote, while the Fighting Hawk men tied for fourth. The same release named Jule Schulte and Leo Galliano as Athletes to Watch in this Summit League this season.

North Dakota tennis will return to the road next weekend as both the men's and women's teams face Oral Roberts on Friday, Marh 6 for its first conference match of the season before moving on to face Northeastern State on Sunday.
