GRAND FORKS, N.D. – The North Dakota softball team opens up the season at home, in a doubleheader against the Dakota State Trojans on Wednesday evening from Albrecht Field. First pitch times are set for 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. on the Summit League Network.
UND owns a 20-11 record this season, playing the previous 31 games away from Albrecht Field. The Hawks are 74-72 all-time at home in the division l era, winning last season's home opener against Kansas City by a score of 4-1.
NoDak is coming off a series split against Portland State, losing the first game by a 1-0 margin, before winning the second game, 3-2.
Katelyn Neumayer went 3-for-4 in the second game, helping UND earn its 20th win of the season, getting the Hawks to that mark in just 31 games (fastest in program history). North Dakota has now reached 20 wins in back-to-back seasons for the first time since 2018 & 2019.
Scouting the Opposition
The Trojans own a 7-15 record on the season, losing seven of their last eight games overall. Dakota State fell to Mayville State on Saturday in Sioux Falls, 6-2.
DSU owns a .298 season batting average this season, led by Hannah McFarland who is hitting .435 with a .514 on-base percentage. Dakota State owns a 6.64 team ERA on the year, with Maycee Bricker leading the way with a 4.75 ERA.
