Five Fighting Hawks earn CSC Academic All-District Honors

GRAND FORKS, N.D. -- Five University of North Dakota softball student-athletes were honored as CSC Academic All-District selections, as announced by the organization on Tuesday morning. Makenna Alexander, Taya Hopfauf, Camryn Lasota, Tegan Livesay and Brooklyn Morris all earned the distinction for the first time in their careers. 

The 2026 Academic All-District® Softball teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes softball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

To be eligible for the award, student-athletes must have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average and must compete in 90 percent of the institution's games played OR must start in at least 66 percent of the institution's games. For pitchers, a student-athlete must have made at least 17 appearances OR pitched 35 innings.

Alexander holds a 3.766 GPA while majoring in commercial aviation as a sophomore. This past season, she earned All-Summit League Honorable Mention honors after hitting .271 with five home runs, 29 RBIs and 26 runs over 52 games. She logged at least one hit in 31 games, including a 10 multi-hit contests. 

Hopfauf closed out her collegiate career by also earning All-Summit League Honorable Mention honors and has a perfect 4.0 GPA in communication science and disorders. She was named the 2025-26 UND Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year and led the team in at-bats (168) and RBIs (30) while tying for the team lead with five homers. She exits UND as the program's all-time leader in games played at 207.

Lasota posted a 3.976 GPA as a forensic science major while appearing in 50 games during her final season with the program. The senior hit .292 with five home runs, 26 RBIs and 25 runs scored while pacing the squad with a .431 on-base percentage. Lasota notched 12 multi-hit games and a trio of three-hit contests while drawing at least one walk in 31 contests. 

Livesay was dominant in the circle for the Fighting Hawks while also holding a perfect 4.0 GPA in health studies. The junior was selected to the All-Summit League First Team after finishing with a 2.79 ERA and a 13-10 record across 140.1 innings pitched. She struck out 105 batters and held opposing hitters to a Summit League best .222 batting average. Livesay logged 15 complete games and four shutouts, including a no-hitter in a win over in-state rival North Dakota State. She tossed at least five innings in 18-of-22 starts and logged 11 quality starts. 

Morris started all 52 games in center field for the Hawks this season and finished her final year with a 3.908 GPA in psychology. She tallied eight multi-hit performances while slashing a .269 average with 19 RBIs, 27 runs scored and a home run. Morris notched at least one RBI in 16 games this season while also finishing with a .983 fielding percentage with 54 putouts and five assists.
